Understand the legacy of Mars. Study the artifacts with an open mind. Don't analyze and catagorize, or try to sort them into prepared boxes. Everywhere you look, try instead to see. Resonate. The minds that generated them saw the universe, no, the multiverse, in fractal terms. Our common world view is totally based on geometry. It is the difference between the "left brain" and the "right brain", and in our modern era, the left brain rules. We treat the right-hemisphere perspective as if it were a genie on a leash, and let our cultural "operating system" be written by the structure-driven left.

Terran: angles, vectors, grids Patterns produced by the alignments of other patterns. And protocols in both science and social order that rely on repeating occurrence. WHY is a carbon atom...? "Well, there are structural parameters that we have measured that almost always come out a certain way, so, mathematically, that must be because that is the Way Things Are. We expect to be able to provide more detail any day now." So if you do "this", then "that" will happen. We guarantee it. Trust us, we're Scientists...Politicians...Priests...Generals. But we can't predict the weather.

Martian: orbits, scale, synchronization. Patterns derived from nodes, through the resonances perceived between any element and any other. How does "this" RELATE to "that"? And, by extension, how does that relationship relate to other relationships? Like a 900 pound gorilla, or like a serpent slipping thru the cracks, or some other way?

Yes.

And the forms of clouds make perfect sense, and things do not have to look alike to be identical.

Again:

Terran: tautology. Without a ruler, the length is unknown. The universe is a collection of packaged goods.

Martian: reality. What is a "length"? The multiverse is a package deal. As above, so below.

Terran: length, width, height.

Martian: essence, extension, interaction.

Both systems of etiology work. On the individual level, a hammer is a hammer. The Terran way imposes Order on Chaos, with geometric constructs that restrict and define boundaries. This requires the additional parameter of referential duration, or "time", as a common denominator.

The Martian way assembles Things from Other Things, "growing" anything from an item to an idea to fill a niche. So it is easier to discern a Fibonacci spiral than a Platonic solid in the design of a Martian machine.

The Martians used gears, and prisms, and wires, built square-edged and pyramidal buildings, lifted heavy weights with boom-cranes and pulleys and generally had all the tools familiar to us. But they did not limit themselves. A prism relies on two things to work: the angles in its construction, and the consistent predictable properties of the glass and the light. That is the left-brain solution. The right-brain, Martian solution might seek to reformulate the glass to perform the desired diffraction regardless of the shape of the "prism", a solution most Terran engineers wouldn't even consider . We do have "imagineers", but most of them are artists and writers. Creative thinkers tend to be viewed with suspicion in the sciences.

Now let's consider The Cover Up. For the entire span of mainstream, orthodox, accepted history, from all available evidence, Mankind has assumed that other intelligent beings existed in realms other than Earth. Whether the others were thought of as gods and demons, angels, or as ETs, or faerie folk, or simply advanced humans from some Faraway Kingdom, few doubted their existence and occasional interaction. There was sci-fi written in Roman times, and there are accounts of magic mirrors, flying craft , and powerful weapons that occur in all ancient legend cycles.... Our poor unsophisticated ancestors seemed to be able to embrace such concepts without too much trouble.

That changed shortly after WW2, virtually concurrent with the beginning of the era of the flying saucer report. There are other important and relevant time-points in True History which we will consider , but the modern era of disinformation needs to be understood first.

There is a purpose to a lie: it hides something. Most politicians have something to hide, so most politicians lie. they exist in a virtual fishbowl, after all, at the sufferance of the public. Just folks trying to survive in a very ego driven profession. Any personal peccadillo might become the key to ruination, in the "wrong" hands. That is the kindest spin that can be given to the situation. Why is that opinion about politicians relevant here? It is more than relevant, it is a core element, because the driving force behind more than a half century of cover-up is BLACKMAIL.

There is no Galactic Council edict placing Earth under quarantine. The structure of governance that might successfully coordinate a civilization spanning a galaxy is outside the scope of this discussion, but let us just note that on an interstellar scale, quarantines are highly impractical and likely to be counter-productive. Those who are denying Man the stars are mostly local vermin.

So what IS going on? Read on. In an attempt to provide a reasonable continuity to the story, I have made logical choices among the alternatives, rather than listing and debating every detail. The reader may feel free to insert words like seems, apparently, alleged, hypothetical, proposed, or any other qualifiers that seem to be underused. I haven't bothered, since I'm not "apparently alleging any hypothetical proposals that seem to merit potential alternative consideration". There are other ways to interpret and detail these events, point-to-point, but the overall trail is clearly marked, and leads to the same places every time. I cannot unravel the exact specific details that connect through the WW2 years, for instance, because there are too many elements and too many players . Perhaps a Harry Turtledove could sort it out, but I lack his encyclopedic knowledge of history. Several scenarios sound fine to me. If I accumulate enough solid data, I'll update, or maybe I should say backdate, this timeline. For now, just to "move the story along", I offer these undisputed tidbits that do seem more than coincidentally relevant:

- The Nazi ideology embodied a mystical philosophy. All belief systems have a spiritual undercurrent or justification, actually, though some find it hard to admit that. In the case of the Nazis, it was a belief system involving ancient civilizations, extraterrestrial origins, and an odious political interpretation of the ubermensch (super race) concepts of books like Bulwar-Lytton's "Vril" (prana-like lifeforce/current). That's why they appropriated the swastika from the Vedic tradition. it took them a year or two to settle on which way the arms should point- look at early photos, and you will see both styles. Anyway, Hitler considered Antarctica important for mystical/historical reasons beyond immediate political need, and so the Nazis did something down there. Maybe they found one of the ancient cities, and were able to gain a few scientific points from Atlantean machinery, but not enough. My guess is that they found a great number of almost useful artifacts, but few war toys; things which became rather a war chest of scientific (and political/historical) treasures. I don't know, really, what they did with it. But when the war ended, America and Russia divvied up much of the loot, taking most of the scientists as well, who were then just given new laboratories rather than prison terms. That may have simply been pragmatism, a perception that "they weren't soldiers, anyway, why shouldn't we put them to work?", even political we-need-to-keep-ahead expediency by the victors. But there were clearly secret projects that were transported out of Germany after the war and continued in some form by both the Americans and the Russians. The troubling aspect is the possibility that some of the philosophy came along... I say that because IF there was a German discovery of an ancient high civilization located in the predicted Ultima Thule (beyond the poles), they (the Nazis) might have felt it verified the Vril concept and philosophy just by being there. It neither would nor did. The unwitting "parent" philosophy and history outlined in the truly ancient Hindu/Vedic texts has links to cultures all around the world.

There was a great deal of U-Boat traffic to and from the southernmost latitudes right up to the war's end. It was considered so likely that there had been a German base at the South Pole that a huge expedition was mounted by the US and Britain to go look for it. Oh, and do other unspecified important-strategic-scientific thingamajigs, too, of course. And Antarctica ended up "International Territory" a bit later, presumably to forestall any landrush or political squabble over all that prime farmland. Whatever. You decide how or if any of that relates to what follows.

The A-1 skeptic question, and a fair one, is "If there is Somebody Out There, why don't they land on the White House lawn? Why skulk around? If they're there."

Maybe the answer is, "they" don't care for politics, nor do they want "treaties" of structured contact and exchange. The Martians, at least, leave evidence of an amazingly individualistic yet integrated culture with no politics at all. Pre-echoes of a vast panoply of our myths and legendary figures can be seen, all mixed together. Archetypes alike, contexts obviously different. There are hints, in some areas, of "real", non-local aliens to be seen on Mars, too. Perhaps some of them have come down and struck political deals, and perhaps some Martians have decided to try the Terran Way. If you hear a bunch of bang-crash-thump noise from next door, you know something is going on, but not what. The only purpose of a public display is the photo-op, anyway. Deals are struck in private, then signed and spun in public.

Sometime between 1945 and 1951, there was an official meeting with Martians. Perhaps Roswell was a factor, or the A-bomb. Perhaps it simply seemed like a logical time to bring a global issue to the table. Again. For this was supposed to be the reuniting of two branches of the same family, not an exercise in politics.

The Martians had a simple plan, and a gift: "Here is the key to our science...our basic image technology. Study it, and you will gain insight into our mathematics. Put it to use, and you will find benefits for everyone: a replacement for medical x-rays, telescopes and microscopes that really work, 3D entertainment media, and data storage capacity almost beyond your ability to measure. Here is the sensor, and here is the reader." A housewarming gift without political "strings", offered to the people of Earth. As soon as the envoys left, the one question in the minds of the carefully chosen official representatives of Earth was, "How can we make a bomb out of this?"

After a period of study, it was determined that there was no way to make it into a "bomb". However, it did provide the ultimate in spying capability. This is where things got ugly.

"General, this is too dangerous to release! Don't you see? Unscrupulous people might use this to snoop on world leaders, and even BLACKMAIL the rich and powerful!" So they did. Call them MJ12, the Syndicate, the Mission, it doesn't matter. A power beyond government had been created, which melded with the already existing powers behind the scenes, and the general public gained nothing. By keeping control of the technology while allowing its use by the intelligence community (all spooks, everywhere, any willing to "pay"), the tentacles reached around the globe.

Two problem areas: first, keeping it so "closely held" prevented any real development or analysis of the technology, so nothing was really accomplished in 50 years beyond learning how to piggyback the sensor data onto a "conventional" signal; and second, the very existence of ETs, Martian or otherwise, was a threat to the "secret". If there was ever any official acknowledgment of life elsewhere, there might be public contact, and the whole house of cards would crumble. So it was "forbidden". No matter how blatant the event, or how ridiculous the "explanation" required, there would be no disclosure allowed. From the beginning, it was not the hiding of the existence of another branch of the human family that drove the secrecy, but rather the existence of that ubergovernment that blackmailed and corrupted the legitimate power structure. Any changes in society that might shift control from the status-quo powers or industries were also to be prevented.

I will leave the further exposition of the political aspects to others. It was necessary to mention this much here to provide context. When some scientist or NASA spokesman says that "life on Mars" or extraterrestrial ruins would be a guarantee of unlimited funding, so why would such news be suppressed, they are being either naive or disingenuous, for the reasons the truth stays hidden have nothing to do with possible public reactions to ETs. And there is a substantial possibility that NASA was actually formed to BE part of the cover-up machinery on one level. One of "Truth's protective layers".

Cooking Brookings:

The key to the Brookings Institute report, which was commissioned in the earliest days of NASA, lies in understanding who was intended to read it. A panel of "respected" figures in the social sciences were charged with explaining why any "discovery" of extraterrestrial artifacts should not be announced, when found. When, not if. They already knew the stuff was out there.

Engineers, technicians, and analysts were going to be needed to examine and develop the real findings of the space program, away from the prying eyes of the public who paid for it all. Those workers needed to be convinced that nothing they might be exposed to could ever be revealed. They had to believe that society would crumble, that the Fate of modern civilization hinged upon their silence. It was those people, the ones who could not be otherwise bought or coopted, who were the real target audience for Brookings. Scientists, as a group, are much more inclined to accept the word of other "wonks" than are members of the general public.

To hide everything from everyone requires many levels of disinformation and distraction. So anything that could be an important clue needed to be countered, and when possible, preempted. One glaring example is the endlessly repeated claim that structural artifacts would be recognized by their "non-fractal" nature and blatant Euclidian geometry. Since the Martian mathematical system is fractal, this perspective neatly filters out much of the available evidence. Buildings will always have corners (it is hard to place furniture in a round room, after all), but layout schemes that spread organically can be, by that logic, written off as merely odd geographic features. So the large scale aspects of settled areas can be discounted. Another common cry of the cover-up crowd is "Tricks of light and Shadow", which plays on the tendency of the mind to see figurative elements everywhere. Actually, that tendency toward pattern recognition shows that the Martians are right, that their science is based on how the mind actually works, instead of the enforced external structural fictions/conventions that we use today. Everything the Martians made was decorated to a fare-thee-well, as they expressed every face and figure that any alignment allowed. They seemed driven to reinforce the concept of "as above, so below" constantly, at every scale. That leads into an examination of their metaphysics, which will have to wait until the next chapter.
